Next row: k8, cast off 3, k14, cast off 3, k8 

Next row: k8, cast on 8 new sts, k14, cast on 8 new sts, k8 (46sts)

Knit 5 rows garther stitch

Cast off and sew seam. 

Next week the skirt.

1 x 1 rib 2 rows

Stst 2 rows

Next row: k1, k2tog, k to last 3sts, k2tog, k1

Next row: p

Repeat these 2 rows until 6sts left on needle

Stst 4 rows

Next row: inc1, k to last st, inc1

Next row: p

Repeat these two rows until 20sts on needle. 

Stst 2 rows

1x1 rib 1 row

Cast off in rib.

Sew side seams. 

This can easily be knitted as a speedo too.

Beginning with a purl row, stst 5 rows

Next row: k11, k2tog, k10, k2tog, k11

1x1 rib 1 row

Cast off ribwise

Sew the back seam. 

Bottom

Cast on 18sts

1x1 rib 2 rows

Next row: k1, k2tog, to last 3sts, k2tog, k1

Next row: p

Repeat these 2 rows until 6sts left on needle ending with a purl row.

Stst 6 rows

Next row: Inc1, k to last st, inc1

Next row: p

Repeat these 2 rows until 18sts on needle. 

1x1 rib 1 row

Cast off ribwise. 

Sew the side seams (just the rib part) 

This pattern can be knitted for a bikini as well.

Please meet Sammy and Alex... 

Over the next year I will post every Friday (or at least try to) an item to knit. By the end of the 47 weeks you will have a basic wardrobe for Barbie and Ken. The patterns are designed to fit the orginal barbie body type and the standard modern ken body type. I am using Patons big baby 4ply and Panda miracle 4ply yarn with 2mm needles. 

Test knit block: 

1×1inch or 2.5×2.5cm

10sts 12 rows worked in stocking stitch 

Abbreviations:

k - knit   

p - purl    

sts - stitches   

stst - stocking stitch    

k2tog- knit two sts together (decrease)      

inc- increase (knit into front and back of same stitch)  

yo- yarn over     

WS - wrong side    

RS - right side    

p2tog - purl two sts together (decrease)

sl1 - slip one stitch 

psso - pass the slip stitch over 

C3F - slip 3 sts onto cable needle, knit 3 sts, knit 3 sts from cable needle

Crop top and 3/4 pants

Materials: 4ply yarn and 2mm needles extra needle to hold sts

Crop top

Begin with sleeves (make 2)

Cast on 14sts

Row 1: k

Row 2: (k1, yo, k2tog) ×4, k2

Row 3: k

Stst 10 rows

Cast off 2 sts at each end of row.

Keep sts on a separate needle for later.

Body

Cast on 40 sts

Row 1: k

Row 2: (k1, yo, k2tog) ×13, k1

Row 3: k

Stst 10 rows

Next row: k9, cast off 2, k18, cast off 2, k9

Now knit in the sleeves:

P9 from back, p10 from sleeve, p18 from front, p10 from sleeve, p9 from back

Next row: k7, k2tog ×2, k6, k2tog ×2, k14, k2tog ×2, k6, k2tog ×2, k7

Next row: p

Knit 2 rows garther st

Next row: (k1, yo, k2tog) ×16

Next row: k

Cast off

Sew seams.

3/4 pants

Cast on 18sts

Knit 1 row

Stst 12 rows

Next row: k1, inc1, k to last 2 sts, inc1, k1 (20sts)

Stst 5 rows

Next row: k1, inc1, k to last 2 sts, inc1, k1 (22sts)

Stst 5 rows

Next row: k1, inc1, m to last 2sts, inc1, k1 (24sts)

Stst 9 rows

Cast off 3 sts at beginning of next 2 rows (18 sts)

Cut yarn, keep sts on a holder and knit another leg but do not cut yarn. 

Join both legs together:

Knit to last st of one leg, knit together the last st and the first st of the other leg, k to end (35sts)

Stst 9 rows

1x1 rib 6 rows

Cast off in rib

Sew seams.

Cable Sweater

Materials:

4ply yarn 2 mm needles and cable needle

Abbreviation:
C6F – slip 3sts onto cable needle and hold in front of work, k3sts, k3sts from cable needle
 
Knit each part seperately and keep on a spare needle together
Sleeve
Cast on 14sts
1x1 rib 10 rows
Stst 16 rows
Cast off 2sts at beg of next two rows.
Cut yarn and keep sts on spare needle.
 
Front
Cast on 24sts
1x1 rib 4 rows
Row 1: k1, p3, k2, p3, k6, p3, k2, p3, k1
Row 2: p1, k3, p2, k3, p6, k3, p2, k3, p1
Row 3: k1, p3, k2, p3, C6F, p3, k2, p3, k1
Row 4: p1, k3, p2, k3, p6, k3, p2, k3, p1
Row 5: k1, p3, k2, p3, k6, p3, k2, p3, k1
Row 6: p1, k3, p2, k3, p6, k3, p2, k3, p1
Rep rows 3 – 6 another 5 times
Next row: Cast off 2 sts, p1, k2, p3, C6F, p3, k2, p3, k1
Next row: Cast off 2 sts, k1, p2, k3, p6, k3, p2, k1
Put sts on spare needle next to the sleeve

Knit another sleeve
Put the sts on the spare needle next to the front
 
Back
Cast on 24sts
1x1 rib 4 rows
Row 1: k3, (p3, k2) rep to last st, k1
Row 2: p3, (k3, p2) rep to last st, p1
Rep rows 1 & 2 thirteen times more
Next row: Cast off 2sts, (p3,k2) rep to last st, k1
Next row: Cast off 2sts, (k3, p2) rep to end
Do not cut yarn!
 

Now knit over all the sts:
Back – k2tog, k16, k2tog, Sleeve – k2tog, k6, k2tog, Front – k2tog, k16, k2tog, Sleeve – k2tog, k6, k2tog
Next row: p (52sts)
1x1 rib 16 rows
Cast off in rib.
 
Sew seams
