Cast off in rib

Sew seam

Put on with shirt from last week to get the whole outfit.

Stst 20 rows

Next row: k8, cast off 3, k14, cast off 3, k8 

Next row: k8, cast on 8 new sts, k14, cast on 8 new sts, k8 (46sts)

Knit 5 rows garther stitch

Cast off and sew seam. 

Next week the skirt.

Cast on 20sts

1 x 1 rib 2 rows

Stst 2 rows

Next row: k1, k2tog, k to last 3sts, k2tog, k1

Next row: p

Repeat these 2 rows until 6sts left on needle

Stst 4 rows

Next row: inc1, k to last st, inc1

Next row: p

Repeat these two rows until 20sts on needle. 

Stst 2 rows

1x1 rib 1 row

Cast off in rib.

Sew side seams. 

This can easily be knitted as a speedo too.

Beginning with a purl row, stst 5 rows

Next row: k11, k2tog, k10, k2tog, k11

1x1 rib 1 row

Cast off ribwise

Sew the back seam. 

Bottom

Cast on 18sts

1x1 rib 2 rows

Next row: k1, k2tog, to last 3sts, k2tog, k1

Next row: p

Repeat these 2 rows until 6sts left on needle ending with a purl row.

Stst 6 rows

Next row: Inc1, k to last st, inc1

Next row: p

Repeat these 2 rows until 18sts on needle. 

1x1 rib 1 row

Cast off ribwise. 

Sew the side seams (just the rib part) 

This pattern can be knitted for a bikini as well.

Please meet Sammy and Alex... 

Over the next year I will post every Friday (or at least try to) an item to knit. By the end of the 47 weeks you will have a basic wardrobe for Barbie and Ken. The patterns are designed to fit the orginal barbie body type and the standard modern ken body type. I am using Patons big baby 4ply and Panda miracle 4ply yarn with 2mm needles. 

Test knit block: 

1×1inch or 2.5×2.5cm

10sts 12 rows worked in stocking stitch 

Abbreviations:

k - knit   

p - purl    

sts - stitches   

stst - stocking stitch    

k2tog- knit two sts together (decrease)      

inc- increase (knit into front and back of same stitch)  

yo- yarn over     

WS - wrong side    

RS - right side    

p2tog - purl two sts together (decrease)

sl1 - slip one stitch 

psso - pass the slip stitch over 

C3F - slip 3 sts onto cable needle, knit 3 sts, knit 3 sts from cable needle
