Back To Basics pattern

Copyright  ©️ Hanka’s Knitting Crafts

Materials:
8ply yarn (used Marvel 4 seasons acrylic), 2mm needles, and a tapestry needle for sewing seams

Abbreviations:
k - knit      p - purl      sts - stitches     stst - stocking stitch      sl2sts - slip two stitches

To fit: 11 inch fashion doll with modern standard body type

Test square: (please knit to make sure the clothes will fit)
2.5 x 2.5 cm =
Cast on 8 sts and stst 10 rows
(Really super fast to test. )

Cast on 30 sts
1x1 rib 1 row
Stst 20 rows
1x1 rib 14 rows
Stst 2 rows
Next row: k14, sl2sts, k14
Next row: p14, sl2sts, p14
Repeat the last two rows twice more.
Cast off loosely
Sew back seam.

Note: This dress is thight at the cast off end which is the top part. If you want a looser fit. You can cast on 32 sts and change the last rows to 15 sts on both sides of slipped sts.
Or you can sew 3/4 of back seam and sew a hook and eye fastener to close.

Mine is just knitted and sewed. I like the tight fit at the top so the dress does not by accident fall down.

  1. I made this dress, but sewed it inside out. I really like the way the rolled, twisted neckline looks. I’m gonna make it again the right way! lol - this was very easy to make. Thank you!
