Abbreviations:
k - knit p - purl sts - stitches stst - stocking stitch yo - yarn over k2tog - knit 2 stitches together k2togtbl - knit 2 stitches together through the back loops inc1 - knit/purl into the front and back of the same stitch to increase
To fit:
29cm Mattel Barbie doll with modern standard body type or any similar fashion doll
Test square:
Cast on 8sts, stst 10 rows = 2.5 x 2.5cm
Pocket
Cast on 12 sts
Stst 4 rows
Next row: k2togtbl, k to last 2 sts, k2tog
Next row: k1, p to last st, k1
Repeat these two rows until 6 sts on needle
Stst 2 rows
Cast off
Sleeves (make 2)
Cast on 12 sts
1 x 1 rib 2 rows
Row 3: k and inc 1 st at beginning and end of row (14 sts)
Stst 27 rows
Next row: cast off 2 sts at beginning and end of row
Keep sts on a holder
Body
Cast on 34 sts
1x1 rib 2 rows
Stst 20 rows
Row 21: cast on 3 new sts (buttonhole band) k37
Row 22: k2, p32, k3
Row 23: k
Row 24: k2, p33, k3
Repeat rows 23 & 24 twice more
Row 29: k
Row 30: k2, p32, k2tog, yo, k1
Row 31: k
Row 32: k2, p32, k3
Repeat rows 31 & 32 three time more
Row 39: k
Row 40: k2, p32, k2tog, yo, k1
Row 41: k10, cast off 3 sts, k14, cast off 3 sts, k7
Now knit over all the pieces:
Row 42: k2, p5 (back), p10 (sleeve), p14 (front), p10 (sleeve), p7, k3 (back)
Row 43: k8, k2tog x2, k6, k2tog x2, k10, k2tog x2, k6, k2tog x2, k5 (40 sts)
Row 44: k2, p38, k3

Cast off
Sew pocket to front. Sew arms and underarm seams. Sew back seam until you reach buttonhole band. Sew buttons opposite buttonholes.
