Lace edge shorts and top for Curvy doll

 Day 6 of 12 days of Christmas for Curvy Dolls

Materials:

8ply yarn (used Sean sheep acrylic), pink, blue and white , 2mm needles, stitch holder or seperate needle and a tapestry needle for sewing seams

Abbreviations: 

k - knit     p - purl      sts - stitches     stst - stocking stitch      k2tog - (decrease) knit 2 stitches together inc - increase by knitting into front and back of the same stitch    rep - repeat  

To fit: 11 inch fashion doll with the curvy body type

Test square: (please knit to make sure the clothes will fit) 

2.5 x 2.5 cm = 

Cast on 8 sts and stst 10 rows

(Really super fast to test. )

Shorts

We begin with the lace edge so you start with the lace colour in my case white...

Cast on 53 sts

Row 1: (k1, cast off 3sts) rep across

Row 2: (k1, cast on 1st) rep across to the last st, k1 (27sts)

Keep these sts on a holder or seperate needle and knit another the same. 

Knit over both pieces (54sts)

Change colour to shorts colour in my case blue and p 1 row

Row 5: k2, k2tog, k20, k2tog, k2, k2tog, k20, k2tog, k2

Row 6: p

Row 7: k2, k2tog, k18, k2tog, k2, k2tog, k18, k2tog, k2

Row 8: p

Row 9: k2, k2tog, k16, k2tog, k2, k2tog, k16, k2tog, k2

Row 10: p

Row 11: k2, k2tog, k14, k2tog, k2, k2tog, k14, k2tog, k2

Row 12: p

Row 13: k16, k2tog, k2, k2tog, k16

Row 14: p

1x1 rib 2 rows

Cast off in rib pattern

Sew leg seams, crotch and back seam

Top

Colour of your choice, I used light pink

Cast on 34 sts

Garter stitch 2 rows 

Stst 4 rows

Next row: k7, k2tog, k16, k2tog, k7

Stst 11 rows

Cast off 8 sts at beginning of next two rows

Now divide and knit each part seperate 

*Row 1: k2tog, k4, k2tog (leave other sts on holder)

Row 2: p

Row 3: k2tog, k2, k2tog

Row 4: p

Row 5: k2tog x2 

Row 6: k2tog

Use this last st to make an i-cord of 14cm and cast off.*

Rejoin yarn to sts on holder and rep * - *

Sew back seam.

Best dress from top of doll
