Knitting Fun March

Materials:
8ply yarn (used 4 Seasons Marvel acrylic) in 2 colours and a tiny bit of a third, 2mm needles for a fine stitch, tapestry needle to sew seams, small button and needle and thread. 

Abbreviations:
k - knit     p - purl     stst - stocking stitch      yo - yarn over     sl1 - slip 1 stitch     psso - pull slipped stitch over     C1/2 - colour 1/2    

Test square: 
Cast on 8 sts, stst 10 rows = 2.5 x 2.5cm

To fit: 
29cm fashion doll with standard body like Barbie or similar 

Dress
Begin at the bottom
With C1 cast on 66sts
Garter st 2 rows
Row 3: *k5, yo, k4, sl1, k1, psso* repeat *-*
Row 4: p
Row 5: *k2tog, k3, yo, k1, yo, k3, sl1, k1, psso* repeat *-*
Row 6: p
Row 7: *k2tog, k2, yo, k1, yo, sl1, k1, psso, yo, k2, sl1, k1, psso* repeat *-*
Row 8: p
Row 9: *k2tog, k1, yo, k1, yo, sl1, k1, psso, yo, sl1, k1, psso, yo, k1, sl1, k1, psso* repeat *-*
Row 10: p
Row 11: *k2tog, yo, k1, yo, sl1, k1, psso, yo, sl1, k1, psso, yo, sl1, k1, psso, yo, sl1, k1, psso* repeat *-*
Row 12: p
Row 13: k
Row 14: k
Change to C2
Row 15: (k3, k2tog) repeat to last st, k1 (53sts)
Stst 5 rows
Row 21: (k2, k2tog) repeat to last st, k1 (40sts)
Stst 5 rows
Row 27: (k2, k2tog) repeat across (30sts)
Stst 5 rows
C3 Stst 2 rows 
C1 stst 2 rows
C2 stst 2 rows
C1 stst 2 rows
C2 stst 2 rows
C1 stst 2 rows
Next row: k
Next row: cast off 18sts, p3, cast off 9 sts
On these remaining 3 sts, garter st 34 rows
Next row: k1, yo, k2tog (buttonhole)
Next row: k
Cast off

Sew back seam. Sew button to left front to fasten strap around neck.

Tube dress for Petite Barbie

8ply yarn (used 4 Seasons Marvel) 2mm needles, tapestry needle

Abbreviations: 
k - knit     p - purl     sts - stitches     stst - stocking stitch     k2tog - knit 2 sts together to decrease 

To fit: A Mattel Barbie with petite body or Skipper doll

Test square: 
Cast on 8sts, stst 10 rows = 2.5 x 2.5cm 

Begin at the bottom
Cast on 30sts
Row 1: (p2, k4) across
Row 2: (p4, k2) across
Row 3: (p2, k4) across
Row 4: (p1, k2, p3) across
Row 5: (k3, p2, k1) across
Row 6: (p1, k2, p3) across
Repeat rows 1 - 6 another three times
Row 25: k5, k2tog x2, k12, k2tog x2, k5 (26sts)
Rows 26 - 38: stst
1x1 rib 2 rows
Cast off in rib pattern
Sew back seam

Knitting Fun February 2026

 This month I give to you a simple tube dress. 
This pattern is beginner friendly. I also give you some ideas of how to change it.

Materials: 
8ply yarn (used 4 Seasons Marvel), 2mm needles, tapestry needle 

Abbreviations: 
k - knit     p - purl    inc1 - increase by knitting into front and back of the same stitch    k2tog - deceease by knitting two stitches together 

To fit: 
29cm Fashion doll with modern standard body like Barbie 

This dress is knitted from the bottom in stocking stitch 

Cast on 30sts
Stst 26 rows
Row 27: k6, k2tog, k14, k2tog, k6
Rows 28 - 36: stst
Row 37: k6, inc1, k14, inc1, k6
Rows 38 - 44: stst
Cast off
Sew back seam

Variations:
Knit in stripes with multiple colors.
Knit in stripes with two colors.
Change the stst to another pattern stitch.
Add lace to the bottom.
Add ribbon to front center and tie at back of neck.
