This pattern was inspired by Isabelle and therefore it is for PERSONAL USE ONLY
Materials:
8ply yarn (purple - Heirloom Color Works others not sure was a gift) 2mm needles a button
Abbreviations:
K - knit p- purl C1/2 - colour 1 or 2 sts - stitches stst- stocking stitch k2tog - knit 2 stitches together Inc 1 - increase 1 stitch by knitting into front and back of the same stitch p2tog - purl 2 sts together
Dress
Begin with sleeves (make 2)
C1 - cast on 14 sts
C1 - k 2 rows garter stitch
C2 - stst 2 rows
C1 - stst 2 rows
C2 - stst 2 rows
Cut C2
C1 - stst 2 rows
Next row: Inc 1 st at each end of row (16sts)
Stst 7 rows
Cast off
Body
C1 - cast on 32 sts
Knit 2 rows garter stitch
C2 - stst 2 rows
C1 - stst 2 rows
C2 - stst 2 rows
C1 - stst 2 rows
C2 - stst 2 rows
C1 - stst 2 rows
C2 - stst 2 rows
Cut C2
C1 - stst 12 rows
C2 - stst 2 rows
C1 - stst 2 rows
C2 - stst 2 rows
C1 - stst 2 rows
C2 - stst 2 rows
Cut C2
C1 - stst 2 rows
Now divide and knit seperatly
Back:
On the first 8sts only
Stst 8 rows
Next row: 1x1 rib 4sts, k4
Next row: p4, rib 4
Cast off
Rejoin yarn to front 16sts
Stst 8 rows
Next row: k4, rib 8, k4
Next row: p4, rib 8, p4
Cast off
Rejoin yarn to other 8 sts for back
Stst 8 rows
Next row: k4, rib 4
Next row: rib 4, p4
Cast off
Place the body part on a flat surface. Fold the sleeve in half the insides facing you. I thread the needle with tail left by cast off of sleeve.... and I am hoing to sew half the sleeve to the back panel as shown by the needle's point....
This is what it looks like
Fold the sleeve in half and sew to front where needle points.
Sew sleeve seam
Now sew the shoulder which is the 4 edge sts
Sew the back seam to the second set of stripes. You can sew a hook & eye fastener to close at top or leave as it is.
Hat
Cast on 50sts
Knit 2 rows garter stitch
Next row: (k3, k2tog) across (40 sts)
Next row: k
Next row: (k2, k2tog) across (30sts)
Next row: k
Stst 4 rows
Change colour and stst 2 rows
Change back to other colour and continue:
Next row: (k5, k2tog) across, end with k2 (26sts)
Next row: p
Next row: (k4, k2tog) across, end with k2 (22 sts)
Next row: p
Next row: (k3, k2tog) across, end with k2 (18sts)
Next row: p
Next row: (k2tog) across (9sts)
Next row: (p2tog) across, end with k1 (5 sts)
Thread yarn through remaining sts, secure and sew seam.
Bag
4 parts sewn together to make it.
Bottom
With C2 cast on 14sts
Knit 12 rows garter st
Cast off
Sides
With C1 cast on 36 sts
Stst 13 rows
Knit 1 row from wrong side.
Cast off
Flap
With C2 cast on 16 sts
Row 1: k
Row 2: k2, p12, k2
Repeat these 2 rows another three times
Next row: k2, k2tog, k8, k2tog, k2
Next row: k2, p10, k2
Next row: k2, k2tog, k6, k2tog, k2
Next row: k2, p8, k2
Next row: k2, k2tog, k4, k2tog, k2
Next row: k2, p6, k2
Next row: k2, k2tog, k2, k2tog, k2
Next row: k2, p4, k2
Next row: k3, cast off 2, k3
Next row: k3, cast on 2, k3
Cast off
Strap
Cast on 40 or 50 sts
Knit 1 row garter st
Cast off
Sew the bottom to the side part from the middle back.
Sew the back seam.
Fold the flap in half to get the center to match with the back seam.
Sew them together.
So the flap close to the front.
Sew the strap to the inside of the sides
Like this
Add a button to the front to close.
