Mystery knit #8

 

This mystery knit is an outfit that has 2 items. 

Materials: 

8ply yarn in colours of your choice. I use Sean Sheep Acrylic 

4mm and 2mm needles  and a button

Test square:

8 sts and 10 rows stst = 2.5x2.5cm  using 8ply and 2mm needles

Abbreviations:

k - knit   p - purl    k2tog - knit two together    sts - stitches   stst - stocking stitch    p2tog - purl two together    yo - yarn over    

With 4mm cast on 54sts

Garter stitch 4 rows

Continue in pattern:

Row 1: k

Row 2: (k4, p1, k1) repeat across

Row 3: k

Row 4: (k4, p1, k1) repeat across

Row 5: k

Row 6: (k1, p1, k4) repeat across

Row 7: k

Row 8: (k1, p1, k4) repeat across

Repeat rows 1 - 8 another four times

Change to 2mm needles and repeat rows 1 - 8 twice

Next row: (k1, k2tog) across (36sts)

Next row: (p4, p2tog) across (30sts)

1x1 rib 4 rows

Cast off in rib. 

Sew back seam

With 2mm needles cast on 30sts

1x1 rib 2 rows

Next row: rib 8, k14, rib 8

Next row: rib 8, p14, rib 8

Repeat these two rows once more

Next row: cast off 8 sts in rib, k14, rib 8

Next row: cast off 8sts in rib, p14

Next row: k2tog, k to last 2sts, k2tog

Next row: p

Repeat these 2 rows another three times (6sts)

Next row: cast on 5sts, k to end

Next row: cast on 5sts, p to end (16sts)

Next row: k13, k2tog, yo, k1 (buttonhole)

Next row: p

Cast off

Sew back seam. Sew a button opposite the buttonhole.
