Crop top and 3/4 pants

Back to the 8ply version 

Materials: 
8ply yarn  (used Sean sheep acrylic and Birch Creative print)  2mm needles x3

Abbreviations:
st(s) -  stitch(es)    k - knit    p - purl     stst - stocking stitch    yo - yarn over     k2tog - knit two sts together     inc - increase (I use knit into front and back of same stitch)    

Test square:
8ply yarn and 2mm needles 
8 sts and 10 rows stst = 2.5 x 2.5cm 

Crop top
Sleeves (make 2) 
Cast on 12 sts 
Row 1: k
Row 2: (k1, yo, k2tog) x 4
Row 3: k
Stst 8 rows
Cast off 2 sts at beginning of next 2 rows (8sts)
Keep these on a spare needle for later

Body
Cast on 36sts
Row 1: k
Row 2: (k1, yo, k2tog) x12
Row 3: k
Stst 8 rows
Next row: k8, cast off 2 sts, k16, cast off 2 sts, k8

Now knit in the sleeves: 
p8 from back, p8 from sleeve, p16 from front, p8 from sleeve, p8 from other back
Next row: k6, k2tog x2, k4, k2tog x2, k12, k2tog x2, k4, k2tog x2, k6 (40sts)
Next row: p
Next row: k
Next row: k
Next row: (k1, yo, k2tog) x13, k1
Next row: k
Cast off 
Sew sleeve seam, underarms and then back seam.

Pants
Cast on 15sts
Knit 1 row
Stst 12 rows
Next row: k1, inc1, k to last 2sts, inc1, k1 (17sts)
Stst 5 rows
Next row: k1, inc1, k to last 2sts, inc1, k1 (19 sts)
Stst 9 rows
Cast off 2 stst at beginning of next two rows (15sts)
Keep this leg on the spare needle
Knit another leg But Do Not Cut Yarn 
Now knit over both legs (30sts)
Stst 7 rows
1x1 rib 3 rows
Cast off in rib pattern
Sew crotch, back and leg seams

Bag
Cast on 12sts
Moss st 30 rows
Row 1: (k1, p1)
Row 2: (p1, k1) 
Repeat pattern
Cast off
Sew side seams

Strap
Cast on 40 sts
Cast off

Or make an i-cord as long as you prefer.
Sew strap to bag sides.
Decorate if you want.
