Materials: 8ply yarn in 2 colours and 2mm needles
Test square: 2.5 x 2.5cm = 8sts and 10 rows stst using 8ply and 2mm
With C1 cast on 33sts
Garter st 2 rows
Change to C2 and stst 2 rows
Now begin pattern stitch:
Row 1: k3, *p7, k3* rep *-*
Row 2: p
Row 3: k3, *p7, k3* rep *-*
Row 4: p
Row 5: k3, *p7, k3* rep *-*
Row 6: p
Row 7: k3, *p7, k3* rep *-*
Row 8: p
Row 9: p3, *k7, p3* rep *-*
Row 10: p
Row 11: p3, *k7, p3* rep *-*
Row 12: p
Repeat rows 1 – 12 of pattern
Cut C2 and change to C1
Garter st 4 rows
Stst 6 rows
Next row: 1x1 rib 8, k2tog, k6, k2tog, k5, k2tog, rib 8
Next row: rib 8, p14, rib 8
Next row: rib 8, k14, rib 8
Repeat these two rows another 3 times
Next row: rib 8, p14, rib 8
Next row: cast off 8, k14, cast off 8
Now knit the top in two separate pieces
Rejoin yarn to first 7sts
Garter st 26 rows
Cast off
Rejoin yarn to the other 7sts
Garter st 26 sts
Cast off
Sew the two top pieces together, sew back seam.
