Next row: k8, kfb, k16, kfb, k8
Stst 5 rows
Next row: k17, sl 2 sts, k17
Next row: p17, sl 2 sts, p17
Next row: 1x1 rib 17, sl 2 sts, beg with p and 1x1 rib 17
Next row: 1x1 rib 17, sl 2 sts, beg with p and 1x1 rib 17
Next row: Cast off 16, k2 tog and continue to cast off until the end.
Sew back seam

Row 2: inc in every st across row (16sts)
Start with a p row and stst 15 rows
Next row: k2tog across row (8sts)
Next row: k
Cast off
Make an i-cord of 3cm. Sew sides of bag and sew on the handle and decorate.

Sew back. I used the holes made by short rows to thread an i-cord through and tie it in a bow. 

Variation idea...
And a bit of a challenge, knit this dress as a wedding dress. 
It can be knitted in one colour too.

Knit 2 rows
Row 3: k
Row 4: k2, p to last 2sts, k2
Rep rows 3 & 4 thirteen times more
Row 31: k
Row 32: k2, p8, k4, p20, k4, p8, k2
Row 33: k
Row 34: k2, p8, k4, p20, k4, p8, k2
Divide to create armholes

Right front
Row 1: k12, leave the rem sts on holder for later
Row 2: k2, p8, k2
Rep rows 1 & 2 another 8 times
Next row: k6, cast off 6sts, keep the 6sts on a holder for hood.

Rejoin yarn to back
Row 1: k24
Row 2: k2, p20, k2
Rep rows 1 & 2 another eight times
Next row: Cast off 6sts, k12, cast off 6sts, keep the 12sts on a holder for hood.

Rejoin yarn to last 12sts for left front.

Now there are two options.
Option 1 – Cast off, then you fold the hood in half and sew.
Option 2 – K14, Fold hood so inside is out, and two needles are on top of each other
With a third needle, knit 1 st from both needles together and as you knit you cast off at the
same time.
Option 2 has no seam to sew.
Sew shoulders. Make and attach 2 i-cords of 6cm to front at neck edges as seen in picture.
